Jumping The Broom
My buddy was just giving me some advice on married life (You’re supposed to give gifts of paper at the 1 year anniversary? What?), and we got a little sidetracked. He started telling me a story from BEFORE he got married. My friend, (whom we’ll call “Ike”), is black, and his wife, (whom we’ll call “Sarah”) is white.
In this story of love, understanding, and racial tolerance, Sarah asked, “Do we have to jump a broom?”. Mike asked her, “Do you WANT to jump a broom?”, with a look of puzzlement on his face.
This is why Tyler Perry has to stop making movies.
